今個星期就到林子祥開show. 我沒有看過其個人演唱會, 只看過幾年前他跟杜麗莎搭檔的演唱會, 還有幾次他做別人演唱會的嘉賓 (記憶中有張敬軒+最近的鄭國江), 每次都是唱敢愛敢做. 今次我沒有看, 一來算是已看過, 二來聽他喪嗌幾個鐘其實會有點吃不消, 所以我決定在我擁有的48首林子祥mp3中選以下10首作為回顧.
第十位: 三人行 (1981)
據聞詩詩將會在演唱會現身, 不知她是甚麼模樣呢? 其實我頗喜歡劉天蘭的聲線, 唱歌她不算好, 但聽落有味道, 偶爾會在街見到她, 如果她唱的話我想聽囉.
第九位: 似夢迷離 (1990)
我想這是僅有我可以唱得到他的作品.
第八位: 成吉思汗 (1979)
跟我差不多年紀而又在本地讀大學的朋友, 當年入U的O'camp大家可在camp fire時唱過/跳過這首歌?
第七位: 幾段情歌 (1982)
林子祥的曲簡單好聽, 長達一分半鐘的opening可謂絕無僅有, 無開始唱已經要拍爛手掌了.
第六位: 狂歡 (1981)
繼續campfire必唱必跳之選! 跳到癲.
第五位: 每一個晚上 (1984)
有邊個會唔鍾意呢首歌? 經典!
第四位: 古都羅馬 (1982)
選這首歌跟我將會去羅馬無關. 這類曲式, 這類風格, 這類主題只會在70/80年代出現. 這些這些一切一切都是經典. 有趣, 大家一齊roma roma roma roma lalalalala...
第三位: 活色生香 (1981)
以tango節奏做曲風又是當年的一大經典. 聽完真的目定口呆. 這個片段中的舞伴是甄妮! 一定要看這個mv看到最後...好好笑!
第二位: 誰能明白我 (1984)
這是芸芸self-empowerment的歌曲中我最最最喜歡的一首.
第一位: 追憶 (1984)
無論是這個原裝版本, 或是彭羚的翻唱版本, 甚至是關淑怡當年拉闊的現場版, 都令我感動. 當然每次聽林子祥的版本我都會鼻子一酸, 萬試萬靈.
70/80年代的男歌手大家先數的一定是譚詠麟張國榮, 我其實最欣賞的是林子祥 - 獨有的嗓子, 獨有的演繹方式, 歌曲風格的廣絕對是無人能及.

這些歌只有他唱得到及唱得好.
Just a sign of my age, I actually remember the clip of 活色生香 being premiered on TV. BTW, it was not an MV, it was a music special (音樂特輯). During the pre-勁歌金曲 era, singers plug their new songs by starring in an hour long program TVB made, usually with two singers paired together in one program. That's why Jenny was in it. I remember that George Lam had just released his album 活色生香 when the program was broadcast. That was more than 30 years ago already.
In additions to 活色生香, another song from that album plugged in the program is 可以不可以. Because the lyric of that song talks about the frog who wants to be a prince, so naturally it was presented by two puppets, one is a frog (voiced by George) and the other is a princess (voiced by Jenny). At the end of the song, there was a spoken line that said "可以唔可以". After the frog had spoken that line, the princess replied "梗係唔可以啦!" then went on to give the frog a slap...
Today 可以不可以 is probably a mostly forgotten song but back in early 80s there was a very memorable episode of 獅子山下 called 天生我材, which featured 可以不可以 very prominently. If you have watched that episode, you will understand why.
For both personal and unbiased reason, 活色生香 is my favorite album of George Lam. For those who like George’s early exotic style of music, it has 活色生香, 狂歡, 沙漠小子, for his misunderstood, self-empowering anthem, it has 究竟天有幾高, 三人行 and of course 可以不可以. And it even dappled in oriental 小調 with 七月初七 and a cover of the oldie 夜來香, eleven years before Sandy Lam dip her hands in it. I can honestly say there is no wasted moment in the entire album. George Lam might become bigger after he signed with WEA but his EMI days was lot more original and unique. Once he got big, his music became so much more mainstream (and even bland) or just gimmicky like 十分十二吋 or 史泰龍.

確實活色生香是高水準的專輯. 後來的丫嗚婆愛到發燒史泰龍都不太喜歡.
